Claudette Koehler is owner of Ye Ol' Fiddle Shoppe. Established in September of 1980, the shop has provided extensive service and expertise in string instrument repair and education not only to the Pensacola area but throughout the Gulf Coast region.
Ms. Koehler holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University and has taught in the public schools as well as having served as adjunct faculty for both Pensacola State College and the University of West Florida. She acquired her repair skills at the University of Indiana string instrument technology program, studying with Ole Dahl, Danish luthier formerly with Lyon & Healy, Chicago and Michael Duff, founder of Berg Bows.

Ms. Koehler is well known in the local music community, having performed with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for twenty-five years as bassist. She has performed with other area groups; such as, Pensacola Opera, Pensacola Choral Society, Okaloosa Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, Macon Symphony Orchestra, The Pensacola Little Theatre, and numerous Pensacola State College, University of West Florida & Pensacola Christian College productions.

Ms. Koehler is lauded by customers across the region for her repair skills. She possesses the unique skill of knowing when an instrument sounds its best and how to arrive at that end through proper adjustments. Being a professional musician and having taught strings also affords Ms. Koehler special insight into many player problems that may be physical or perceptual rather than a problem of the instrument. Of course, we all know "it's the instrument's fault".
